What it does

The TTQ Cashew Nut Shelling Machine (also called a cutting machine) cracks and removes the hard outer shell of the steamed raw nut to release the kernel. TTQ builds it in 4-, 8-, 12- and 16-head configurations processing roughly 120 to 1,200 kg of raw nuts per hour. Automatic size-matched cutting blades split the shell along its natural seam, keeping whole-kernel breakage low — typically under 5% on well-graded nuts — and feed the shelled nuts on to drying and peeling.

Shelling sits at the heart of the line. Graded, steamed nuts feed in; shelled kernels move on to drying while the separated shell is routed to the shell burner for energy recovery.

Cashew Nut Shelling Machine — FAQ

What is the difference between a shelling machine and a cutting machine?
They are the same stage — "cutting" is the common term for the automatic shelling machine that splits the shell to release the kernel. Peeling, which removes the brown skin, is a later, separate stage.
What capacity do I need?
A 4-head machine (~120–300 kg/hr) suits small plants; 12–16 head machines reach ~1,200 kg/hr for fully automatic lines. We size it to your daily raw-nut target.
How much breakage should I expect?
On properly graded and steamed nuts, whole-kernel breakage is typically under 5%. Grading upstream is the single biggest lever on yield.
Is compressed air required?
Automatic models use clean compressed air for the cutting actuation; we specify the matching compressor with the machine.
