Why Tanzania
- Major East African raw cashew nut producer
- Large share currently exported raw
- Strong case for local value addition and jobs
New build or turnaround: see cashew project revival in Africa and the general setup guide.
Tanzania is a major East African cashew grower that exports much of its crop raw. Local processing plants can capture that value and create jobs at origin.
Tanzania is one of Africa’s largest raw cashew nut producers, yet historically exports much of its crop unprocessed. Building processing factories in Tanzania keeps the value — and the jobs — at origin. A Tanzanian plant needs the same essentials as any modern line: raw-nut supply (strong locally), a building with power, water and shell-fired energy, the right machinery and automation level, labour and financing. TTQ supplies, installs and supports plants across Africa, and can revive idle Tanzanian factories as well as build new ones.
